taking action as an act of resistance to our fast-paced culture

This post showed up in my social feeds today, reposted by Trump supporters as a “see, I told you so” moment. But for many of us that advocate for social justice and equity, we can quickly see the clear influence of the patriarchy and capitalism on the “achievements” being celebrated.

While Slow Season is not a political organization, we do believe in the equality of all people. We are anti-racist, anti-fascist, anti-capitalist, anti-patriarchy, LGBTQ+ affirming, and believe in the spirit of solidarity. We welcome people of all backgrounds, faiths, ability, and heritage. While everyone is welcome to participate in Slow Season, we simply do not tolerate oppression and hate.

In light of the recent election, it is important now more than ever to make our voices heard. We are disenchanted by the systems of oppresion that have been built up around us. It is time to dismantle these systems in favor of a new system that celebrates the diversity of our nation and acknowledges and gives back to those we have oppressed.
